Express Mobile Transportation provides Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. We are proudly serving seniors and individuals with mobility challenges in the Greater Cincinnati area as well as private door to door service.

Express Mobile Transportation is seeking a reliable and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey. The NEMT Driver plays a crucial role in supporting individuals who may face mobility challenges, providing a valuable service that contributes to their overall healthcare experience.

Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 25 years of age or older (Insurance Requirement).
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation or related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and DOT Physical.
  • Familiarity with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and secure mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, as needed.
  • Knowledge of local roadways and geography.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport seniors and people with mobility challenges to/from hospitals, doctor appointments, senior living facilities, family gatherings, etc.
  • Ability to push clients in wheelchairs as well as get them into the van.
  • Ensure all passengers are carefully secured in our customized wheelchair vans.
  • Performing pre and post inspections of vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues promptly.
  • Having empathy and being able to treat all passengers with dignity, respect and honor.
  • Always being aware of passenger needs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, healthcare providers and dispatch personnel. Ensure all clients are informed about pick-up and drop-off times.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
  • Follow assigned schedules and routes to pick-up and drop-off clients promptly. Notify dispatch of any delays or changes in the schedule.
  • Possessing a safety focus at all times.
  • Follow all local, state and federal regulations related to non-emergency medical transportation.
  • Complete accurate and detailed trip logs, documenting mileage, times and any relevant information. Submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Foster a positive and comfortable experience for all passengers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and maneuver mobility aids, including wheelchairs, up to 350 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Good vision and hearing to ensure safe driving.

Schedule

  • Full-Time (30-40 hours per week).
  • Part-Time (15-24 hours per week) - Must be able to work a full 8-hour shift.
  • All shifts start and end at Express Mobile Transportation’s office in Newport, KY.

Dress Code

  • Men - Dress pants with a button-up shirt and tie.
  • Women - Dress pants or skirt with a dressy blouse.
  • Clean shoes.

Salary

  • $17.00 / hour
  • Some trips may include tips

As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver, your job will be to transport senior citizens and individuals with mobility  challenges to a variety of destinations. However, the job is about  more than simply transporting passengers from one place to  another. You’ll be helping people maintain independence, access  essential services, and stay connected to the things that matter.
